Responsibilities include serving as director of the UM percussion program; teach applied private instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels; teach additional courses in the percussion program such as literature, pedagogy, and ensemble; mentor and advise students; other departmental needs as required.
Required Qualifications: Graduate degree in percussion performance or equivalent professional experience (DMA degree preferred); sustained and distinguished professional record as a performer of multi-percussion repertory, chamber music, and orchestral performance. Specializations in world percussion, commercial/popular music, new music, and/or other disciplines preferred.

U.S. Army Concert Band “Pershing’s Own” - Section Percussion

Auditions will be held in Fort Myer, VA. Travel expenses will be covered pending qualification and funding approval. The audition includes both prepared and sight-reading material. Applicants are expected to have a diverse skill set that includes symphonic percussion, rudimental drumming, timpani, as well as drum set experience.
